Viray.Tatak, is a new tattoo project.

These designs are pulled from traditional filipino tattooing (tatak/hand tapping style). I’ve created a modern take on these Pinoy classics with intentional meanings behind them meant for the local filipino community using machine tattooing. Whang-Od (‘mambabatok’ the oldest tattooer in the world pictured below) and Lane Wilcken (traditional ‘batok’ tattooer) are big inspirations for this project.
